Drama & Films On Demand

Good Morning,
I expect you are all enjoying the milder weather we are having…. Spring is on it’s way at last. A warm weekend is promised this weekend.

Did any of you enjoy the Drama “Strike”, I thought it was brilliant, I didn’t realize there had been a previous two series, no surprise when I looked through On Demand and found them.

Strike is a Detective Drama based on the Novels by Robert Galbraith ( J.K. Rowling’s Pen Name ).
The main character is a private investigator Cormoran Strike.
Well worth watching.

A few films that I’ve watched in the past week are…..
Conspiracy, Darkest Hour, Hampstead and Hidden Figures. All very different, you may have guest from previous posts that I like a variety of Films and Dramas of all different subjects.

Stars Kenneth Branagh and many more actors that you will be familiar with.

It’s a dramatic recreation of the Wannsee Conference where the Nazi Final Solution phase of the Holocaust was devised. It’s quite shocking how things were decided so matter of fact.

Darkest Hour….

Stars Gary Oldman

The true story that begins on the eve of World War 2
Within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill must face one of his most difficult and defining trials. Does he negotiate with Nazi Germany or does he stand firm and fight for liberty and freedom of a nation.
With his own Party plotting against him, Churchill must withstand his Darkest Hour and attempt to change the course of world history.
Gary Oldman deserved his Oscar for this role.

Stars, Diane Keaton and Brendan Gleeson.

An American Widow living an uneventful existence in London’s idyllic village of Hampstead meets a local recluse who lives totally different from her in a hut at the edge of the forest.
This is a lovely film.

Hidden Figures….

Stars Kevin Costner and Kirsten Dunst

This is the amazing untold story of the brilliant African-American women working at NASA as the brains behind one of the greatest operations n history: The launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit.
The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.

Well I’m off to get a bit of this lovely sunshine, Have a great weekend x

Good Morning.
I’m going to start with a few film that are on Demand that I’ve watched over the past week.
As you’ll all know the weather has been pretty awful so what better than a couple of Duvet Days…

A Little Bit Of Heaven.
A bit of a Tearjerker this one but a nice film.
Starring Kate Hudson and Kathy Bates.
A young woman that doesn’t take life or relationships seriously in case she gets hurt has a life-changing visit with her Doctor.

Tom Wilkinson, Miranda Richardson and Emily Watson.
Belle is inspired by the True story of Dido Elizabeth Belle, the illegitimate mixed race Daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral.
Raised by her Great Uncle, Lord Mansfield and his wife she has certain privileges yet the colour of her skin prevents certain social standing.
She meets a vicars son who is campaigning to end Slavery in England.
Lord Mansfield changed History.

Finding Forrester.
Stars Sean Connery.
A Brilliant Film about a young African American named Jamal, Jamal is a talented writer that is mentored by Forrester after an unusual chance meeting.

One Chance.
Stars Julie Walters and James Corden
A Fantastic Feel Good film. This film follows the remarkable and inspirational true story of Paul Pots, a shy, bullied shop assistant by day and an amateur singer by night.
It’ll make you laugh and cry.
Even with little confidence Paul Pots never gave up his dream, eventually going on to win Britain’s Got Talent.
